Surgery and Rehabilitation Staff

Laurelee is from Orlando, Florida but mostly grew up in Camden County Georgia. She joined the Capital Veterinary Specialists, JAX team in May of 2015, and has to total 10 years of experience in the veterinary field. She truly enjoys working with the surgical staff. When she's not at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and son, animals and gaming.

Mr. Lee was raised in Jacksonville and has been a part of the Mandarin community since the age of 5!  He started his veterinary career in general practice 23 years ago.  He has been in specialty veterinary surgery for the last 12 years and has academic training as an Operating Room technician.  Mr. Lee loves all aspects of surgery including working as a Surgical Assistant.

Mr. Lee spends most of his free time with his wife. He is both an avid fisherman and gardener. 

Kennedy is a Florida girl through and through.  She loves the outdoors and enjoys being close to the river and beaches.  She is currently a student at UNF and is working towards her Bachelors of Science degree in coastal and marine biology.  She hopes to further her education and gain acceptance into Veterinary Medical School upon completion of her undergraduate degree. 

She enjoys spending her free time with her two beautiful German Shepherd dogs and her Maine Coon cat.

Phil is a Mandarin native! Raised in Jacksonville, Phil originally trained in the human field as an EMT.  He followed his true passion 2 years ago and joined our team as a Veterinary Technician.  He joined the Canine Rehabilitation Department and works hard under Dr. Darrow get our four-legged patients walking after orthopedic surgery.  Phil spends all of his free time with his family; he is the proud father of 2 beautiful children.  Phil also loves sharing his time with his 3 dogs, his 2 cats, and his Bearded Dragon named Freddy. We are so happy he part of the CVSJAX team!

Michael was born in raised in Anchorage, Alaska. He started his career in the veterinary field as a kennel volunteer in high school just trying to get his foot in the door. He has been in the field for 7 years now and joined the Capital Veterinary Specialists JAX team in August 2019. In his free time, Michael enjoys watching movies, playing sports, and spending time with the sweetest puppy in the world, his 4 year old Siberian Husky named Sky.

Courtney started with Capital in 2021 as a kennel technician then moving into a canine rehabilitation assistant.  She was recently promoted to veterinary technician in the surgery department.  Courtney has several pets and enjoys spending time with them.

Lanielle grew up a Navy brat, moving every few years. She was born in San Antonio, TX but calls Jacksonville home now. She has a handsome energetic 4 year old son. Together they care for a Dachshund, SoCo and a tripod Blk Mouth Curr mix, Trey. She attended Pima Medical Institute in Chula Vista, CA and graduated with a Associates in Occupational Science: Veterinary Technician June 2011. Her hobbies include doing just about anything with her son, exploring on hikes, fishing, kayaking, exercising, and music.

Kyle is a native Floridian born in Miami.  He started in the veterinary field in 2005 in emergency and critical care.  He switched to surgery in 2018 which lead him to working in specialty and being hired with Capital in 2022.  Kyle enjoys writing Sci Fi and fantasy, table top gaming, target shooting, cooking and brewing.  He is a very proud owner of a mixed breed dog named Hazard. 

Bailey was born in the Jacksonville area but grew up in Atlanta. Ga  He is glad to be back in his home town since his hobbies are hanging out oceanside when he is not traveling or spending quality time with his beautiful hairless sphynx named Chanel.  Bailey started at a general practice, moved to large animal and emergency/critical care then into specialty surgery.  Bailey was hired at Capital as an anesthesia technician in 2022.  

Aaron was born in Colorado and decided to make a career change from law enforcement and moved to Florida. He started at Capital as a sterile supply assistant and is eager to learn and support the operating room team . Aaron's hobbies are going to the beach, scuba diving, classic cars, and motorcycles. He recently adopted a shelter rescue dog and is so proud  to announce that he is 100% good boy!
